2009 Trip to Rome

Picture of us at the Colloseum.

Us at the Temple of Hercules (look at those bulging muscles!).

The three girls wanted to go up these stairs next to the Victoriano...smart me, I grabbed the camera & offered to be the photographer (Alicia was too slow to catch on until she was half way up!).

Behind those smiles are three tired girls!

This is us on top of the Victoriano. The view below is from that spot.

Notice the three of them lined up for a photo-opportunity!

Just to get the statue in perspective, see the three of them underneath it?

Valerie, did I step in something???

First dinner out in Rome...it was COLD!

Happy tourists outside the colloseum.

This was breakfast in Sorrento...BEAUTIFUL dining room and lobby.

This was our table for breakfast....and yes that's a luxury cruiser sitting outside the window.

Happy tummies full of croissants & hot chocolate!

Vatican City...I think you can see the Pope inside one of the windows!!

This is the Trevi Fountain the first night we arrived...VERY crowded.

The exact same photo, but 12 hours later when the tourists are still asleep ('cept us).

Three girls in front of the Pantheon. Very pretty inside...sort of.

Large view of Pantheon.

The girls in front of Trevi Fountain.

View to the North from our hotel balcony.

....yep, you guessed it: view to the south outside our balcony.

In April, we took the girls to Rome for Spring break. We saw Trevi Fountain, the Colleseum, Vatican city, and much more (see pics). First pics are of us in the Colleseum. the view from our window (left & right). Nice neighborhood next to the US embassy.

2008 Vacation to France

The pic of the tree is actually suppose to be a picture of Valerie & me in the water outside the front of our hotel. The water was a little chilly, but warmed up after 40-50 seconds. Well, here are some of our pics from last August. We went to the beach in La Baule, France. It's right next to where I use to work as a missionary 25 years ago, and we even at dinner one night with a family that remembers me from 25 years ago (la famille Foucher). Their litte girls are all grown up, and have been on missions of their own. The last pic is the view from the third floor window of the hotel where we stayed.

Wow, lot's of down-load time

Well, that wasn't much of a blizzard...I had to take a break after two (2) pictures to eat dinner. Here are more pics.

Welcome to the Blizzard!

Well, we have taken our initial step into the 21st century (by creating & hosting this blog). We probably won't twitter for another couple years, so please don't push us into the deep end of the proverbial pool. We have TONS of pics from our last 12 months here in Belgium, so we'll get started posting them in batches. This will be a family posting in that we'll have pictures & news about the girls, but probably nothing of their written in-put. Here goes with the pictures:

First batch will be from about a year ago when we first arrived in our new house here in Brussels. The location is a famous park only about 8 blocks from the house called "Cinquentinaire".
